The whole world is going through a crisis due to the outbreak of COVID-19. The Indian Government has declared an emergency lock-down across the country to fight the pandemic. People are advised to stay at home and work from home if possible.

But business must go on. In this tough time, ‘Work From Home’ seems to be the only viable option to keep the ball rolling.

Brainium always treats employees as assets & when it comes to their safety & security, we never compromise. So, we took the step to provide all our employees the facility to work from home, before the government’s decision of total lockdown.

Along with every tough decision, there come some challenges, but we tackled them like a pro. Replicating a smooth work process like a functional office was a challenge for everyone, but our employees who are extremely dedicated, dependable, and passionate about their work made it look quite easy.

What are the Challenges we had & How did we Deal with them?

1. Communication

As a core development & digital marketing company, the work process we have, it needs constant communication. Be it with our clients or within our teams.

So, our first & foremost concern was to keep the communication process smooth & steady. We made it sure that in any situation during the work hours, the communication must not break & thanks to the way we use technology, it was not that tough.

All our teams are constantly in touch with the clients & also with all team members through WhatsApp, Skype, E-mail, Hangouts, and Google Duo.

One of our clients asked us whether we are still in the office, as everything is going around as good as a ‘Business As Usual.’

2. Technical Support

The second challenge was to provide the needed technical infrastructure to Brainites at their homes. Many of our employees did not have the ideal set of systems to do their work comfortably from home.

So, we didn’t take a moment for second thought & decided to provide all the essential technical support they need to work from home.

We arranged for laptops/desktops and devices for testing the apps for all the Brainites who needed it to take home. Our systems management & administrative department took great care of every requirement without a miss.

3. Maintaining Work Discipline

Let it be an office setting or a work from home situation maintaining a work discipline is very important.

As no one is under direct supervision, distractions may happen. Our project managers and team leaders ensured everyone is engaged, and they are informed about what they need to do and keep communicating. We have task and productivity trackers in place for essential monitoring and keeping an eye on the work engagement and efficiency.

Our managers & team leads are in constant touch with their team members & are pitching in whenever there is a need. This collaborative work discipline is making it easy to move ahead with project progress.

We are glad that we always had a robust Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to subdue any such events and contingencies. We are really happy to deliver uninterrupted support, and service even during this tough time.
